A complete denture replaces all the teeth in one or both jaws. A partial denture fills the gaps where some natural teeth remain. Both are made to fit the specific shape of your ridges, which is why the difference between a denture you forget you are wearing and one you take out to eat is almost entirely in the impression technique and the lab work.

Our prosthodontic department is led by an MDS prosthodontist, and every denture is fabricated in our own laboratory on site. That means the try-in adjustments happen while you wait rather than across a fortnight of courier trips, and the bite is verified in your mouth rather than approximated on an articulator.

For patients who have worn conventional dentures and never got on with them, an implant-supported overdenture is usually the answer. Two to four implants per arch give the denture something to lock onto. It clips in, it does not move when you chew, and it stops the ridge resorbing further.

You probably need this if…

  • You have lost most or all of your teeth in one or both jaws
  • Your existing denture slips, clicks or rubs
  • You use adhesive to keep your denture in place
  • You avoid certain foods because you cannot chew them
  • Your face has lost height and looks collapsed around the mouth
  • A partial denture has broken or no longer fits after further tooth loss

Recognising two or more of these does not confirm a diagnosis. It means an examination is worth booking before the problem gets more expensive.

How the treatment works

  1. 01
    Assessment and primary impression

Ridge condition, remaining teeth and bite relationship are assessed, and a preliminary impression taken.

  2. 02
    Border moulding and final impression

The step most often skipped. The functional borders are recorded while your muscles move, which is what makes a denture seat properly.

  3. 03
    Bite registration and try-in

A wax version with the teeth set is tried in your mouth. You see and approve the tooth shape, shade and lip support before it is processed.

  4. 04
    Processing and fit

Fabricated in our in-house lab and fitted, with the occlusion adjusted in the mouth.

  5. 05
    Review adjustments

Two to three follow-ups over the first month to relieve any pressure points. These are included.

What dentures costs in Lucknow

Denture cost in Lucknow depends on whether you need one or both arches, the materials and design, and whether the denture is removable or supported by implants. Assessing the gums, existing teeth and bite helps establish the appropriate option.

Your written estimate sets out the recommended treatment and any separate charges. The guide below explains what to check before agreeing to the plan.

Planning your treatment budget

What affects your fee?

Compare the scope of the treatment, the recommended materials and the follow-up care. Your assessment establishes the plan that is appropriate for you and the estimate for that plan.

What to check in your quotation

Check which arch is covered, the denture material, impressions, bite records, try-in appointments, fitting and the agreed adjustment period.

Additional work to discuss

Extractions, implant support, future relining and repairs may be separate. An existing loose denture should be assessed before choosing between adjustment, relining and replacement.

Factors that determine your cost

  1. Standard acrylic or a precision denture

A premium BPS-style denture is built to record how your jaw actually moves. It fits better and it costs more.

  2. Whether it clips onto implants

An overdenture on two to four implants does not move when you eat. It is the largest jump in both comfort and price.

  3. Full or partial

A partial denture replacing a few teeth is priced differently from a full arch.

How your fee is confirmed

  1. The dentist examines your teeth and discusses your concerns. Any necessary imaging or records are explained, along with their charges.
  2. You discuss suitable treatment options, materials and any additional work needed.
  3. You receive a written plan showing what is included, any separate charges, the total fee and payment stages. Treatment begins after you agree to the plan.

Treatment needs vary between patients. Your written estimate sets out the agreed procedures, inclusions and separate charges before you decide. If new findings change the plan, the dentist discusses the options and revised estimate with you before continuing.

Questions

Dentures: questions patients ask

How much does a complete denture cost in Lucknow?

Denture cost in Lucknow depends on whether you need one or both arches, the materials and design, and whether the denture is removable or supported by implants. Assessing the gums, existing teeth and bite helps establish the appropriate option. After assessment at Chetna Dental Centre in Aashiana, you receive a written estimate identifying the treatment, inclusions and any separate charges before you decide.

How long does it take to get used to a new denture?

Two to four weeks for most patients. Speech normalises within the first week and chewing confidence builds over the first month. Sore spots in the first fortnight are normal and are relieved at the review visits. Do not endure them, and do not adjust the denture yourself.

Why does my denture keep slipping?

Usually one of three reasons: the ridge has resorbed since the denture was made and it needs relining, the original impression did not record the functional borders, or the lower ridge is too flat to hold a conventional denture at all. The first may be addressed by relining. Implant support may be considered if the ridge cannot retain a conventional denture.

Can I eat normally with dentures?

With a well-fitted complete denture, most foods yes, though very hard or sticky items remain difficult, and chewing efficiency is around 20–25% of natural teeth. With an implant-supported overdenture it rises to roughly 70–80%, which is the practical difference patients notice most.

Should I remove my denture at night?

Yes. Leaving it in overnight keeps the tissues compressed and is the main cause of denture stomatitis, a fungal inflammation of the palate. Store it in water or a cleaning solution, never dry, and never in hot water.
